How Payouts Work

There are four ways in which to win money when playing with the HLGA:

  • Placing during Tuesday or Saturday Playdays

  • Placing during Special Events with an Entry Fee

  • Skins

  • Hole-in-One

Read below to find out more about how each of these scenarios work.

Placing during Tuesday or Saturday Playdays

Your HLGA dues go towards paying for placing during Tuesday or Saturday Play Days.  Payouts are as follows:

  • 1st Place $8
  • 2nd Place $6
  • 3rd Place $4
  • 4th Place $2

(Note: Ties are paid out by splitting the purse. For example, two golfers tie for second, they split the money paid out to 2nd place and 3rd place.)

Depending upon the size of the field in each flight, the number of places paid out varies.   If you place and the place is being paid out, then the Pro Staff will credit your Member Club account with the money you won within 48 hours after the playday.

Your Member Club credit can be used for merchandise at Classic Clubs, Signature Clubs and Elevation Fitness, Private Golf Lessons and Clinics, dining at all 4 restaurants and Guest Fees, Cart Fees, and Tournament Entry Fees.  It cannot be used for fixed charges (dues, trail fees, locker storage, etc.).

Placing during Special Events with an Entry Fee

There are some events like the Member/Guest and Sadie Hawkins that have an entry fee that goes towards payouts for placing in those events.  That prize money is given to the winners in cash the day of the event, or if you have to leave early, it will be available in the Pro Shop for you to pick up.

Skins

For each Tuesday/Saturday playday that includes individual play (vs. team play) you have an opportunity to win a skin.  In the HLGA, our skins game is for a net skin and/or a gross skin.   A net skin is won by a player who posts the lowest net score on a hole among all players in the game. The low net score for that hole must be unique among all scores (no ties).  A gross skin is won by a player who posts the lowest gross score on a hole amound all players in the game.

To participate in the Skins game, you must pay $5 to the Skins pot (collected by our Pro staff) before play starts.   At the end of play, the pot will be divided evenly amongst the players who won a skin.  Payout is given the day of play, or if you have to leave early, it will be available in the Pro Shop for you to pick up.

Hole-in-One

A portion of your HLGA dues goes towards membership into our HLGA Hole-in-One club.  The rules associated with obtaining Hole-in-One payout for your Hole-in-One is described in Article VI of our HLGA Constitution.

There is also a Hole-in-One club (for each individual Hills Country Club Golf Member) sponsored by The Hills Country Club.  To become a member of that club, please contact the Pro Shop.

Invite (previously Clubcorp) offers benefits to players who make a hole-in-one on their club course.  The Director of Golf must verify & submit your hole-in-one information to Invite.   Contact our Director of Golf to find out more.
